Docent Training 2019-20 Starting in September [FULL]

Do you remember your own first moments of discovery of the world of plants? The first time you saw tree rings and understood they represented years of growth? The first time you observed a bee gathering pollen? The first time you saw a seed sprout?

If you enjoy working with people of all ages and you have a love of plants and nature that you would like to share with others, consider becoming a UCBG Docent! Our docents create memorable, fun and exciting learning experiences for small groups of school children, university students, and the general public, year round.

The Garden’s next Docent Training Course is beginning on September 9. Classes will be held on Mondays from 1-4 pm through April 13, 2020.

Course information:
Classes meet on Mondays from 1pm-4 pm starting September 9 and ending on April 13, 2020. There will be no classes on November 11 and 25, December 23 and 30, and January 20, and an additional session on Wednesday, March 16. Trainees are also required to shadow tours outside of class.

The fee for docent training is $225; current UCBG membership required.

The 2019-20 training is full. Please email the Volunteer & Tour Coordinator (perry[at]berkeley.edu) if you would like to be notified about the next training class.
