Wild red UCBG 37.1016, a classic red that has been in the UC Botanical Garden since 1937 originating from Trumao, Chile. The flower is flared and typically 8 cm long and 6 cm wide. The original plant is located in the South American section of the Garden in Bed 605 growing up to the top of an azara tree. It is the oldest Lapageria rosea plant in the Garden collections. |
