Click JAPANESE POOL: The Japanese exhibit, waterfall and pool, including the rocks and a lantern, was donated in 1939 from the San Francisco World’s Fair and Exposition. In the winter, it is framed by the spectacular rhododendron 'trees', many from the 1930's. The Japanese Pool is an important breeding ground for newts (Taricha) native to upper Strawberry Canyon.
