Considerations - There is no way to see our diverse collection in one visit. We often recommend a 2-hour visit with the expectation that you will return again and again. With our 12,000 different kinds of plants, a 2-hour (120-minute) visit would require that you see 100 different kinds of plants per minute to experience our entire collection.
Always check the Garden Calendar before your visit for details on special closure days, events and programs. The best way for first-time visitors to see the Garden is with one of our expert docents. Docent tours (free with Garden admission) are available to the public at 1:30 PM on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday year-round.
In order to minimize the impact on the plant collection, ensure the safety of visitors, and to provide your group with the best educational experience we do not admit groups larger than 18 students (+3 chaperones) on our “First Free Thursdays" - More Info
