Pop-Up Plant Sale
California Natives and Vines of the Americas
Plant now for spring growth!
Despite the heatwave, autumn is here and it’s an excellent time to plant in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fall days are shorter so plants have less moisture loss through their leaves, roots become established and plants can take advantage of the rain while the weather is still nice enough to spend a day in the garden!

Propagator’s Picks
red to pink flowers in spring. A
magnet for butterflies and hummingbirds.
Salvia ‘Greenberg Gray’, named for author and Garden community member Katherine Greenberg. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds love the blue-purple blossoms.
Sisyrinchium bellum. Small blue iris-like flowers rise above this grass-like perennial. It can thrive in a variety of soils, light, and moisture.
Lonicera sempervirens. Coral Honeysuckle is a very elegant twining vine with year-round glossy green leaves, and bright, hummingbird-friendly flowers. Not an aggressive, heavy vine. It can scramble on the ground if desired.

Passiflora edulis ‘Frederick’. A Patrick Worley hybrid known for its deliciously sweet purple fruit and large, fragrant, whimsical flowers. Very hardy, surviving wet winters and tolerating the heat.
