WE’RE HIRING
Horticulturist, Arid House/Deserts of the Americas
Are you a horticulturist with a passion for cacti, succulents, and other arid-adapted plants? We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic horticulturist to lead the care, development, and interpretation of one of North America’s outstanding documented collections of desert plants.
This is a unique opportunity to work with historically significant living collections that reflect 100 years of botanical exploration and plant collecting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the cultivation, documentation, and continued development of the Garden’s Arid House, associated support glasshouses, and the Deserts of the Americas collection.
Working within a world-class university botanical garden, this position requires meticulous attention to plant records, advanced horticultural skills, and an appreciation for living collections that support research, conservation, education, and public engagement. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of these collections, contribute their own expertise and vision, and help shape their future through innovation, collection development, and collaboration with the research community.
If you are excited by the prospect of working with exceptional arid plant collections in an academic and public setting and helping advance their scientific and horticultural value, we encourage you to apply.
