After much discussion, the decision has been made to close the Garden on the third Tuesday of every month, in addition to the already scheduled closure on the first Tuesday of every month, starting on January 7, 2020.
Maintaining the UC Botanical Garden at a high level, requires a lot of behind-the-scenes activity, including tree trimming and movement of large plants/soil/rock. These and associated activities require that the public be excluded for safety reasons. Garden staff report that one day a month is not sufficient to carry out these activities and so we have decided to institute a two day per month closure.
In accordance, the Garden will be closed: January 7th, 21st, February 4th, 18th, and so on. We will also continue to be closed on major winter holidays (Thanksgiving Day, December 24th, 25th, and 31st , January 1st and 20th ).
