New COVID-19 visitation protocols to help keep you safe.
After a closure period of over three months, the UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley is excited to welcome back our community of supporters and plant enthusiasts. Beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2020, from 12 – 5 pm, Garden Members will have exclusive access for a week, followed by a general reopening to the greater public on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. The Garden has developed and implemented new COVID-19 related procedures for ensuring the safety of guests and staff including reserved ticketed entry, limiting the number of guests present in the Garden at any one time, face-mask requirement for everyone over two-years-old, and a continued temporary public closure of our popular greenhouse spaces.
With these new safety initiatives and the support of UC Berkeley Campus, the Garden strives to be a source of inspiration and to serve as a much needed space of reprieve. Green, outdoor spaces have never been more important or more precious to the health and vitality of our Bay Area community. As we all begin to move out of strict isolation in our homes, the Garden plans to open to as many visitors as possible, and over time, gradually resuming more regular activities as safely as possible.
